While the nightlife and hectic is in Jeri, Prea offers a more relaxed laid back atmosphere. People who come to Prea are looking for quietness, good food and first class windsurf- and kite conditions. It has several restaurants with excellent food, some local bars and a nice beach/lounge bar (see the Starbar button on this website). If you are in a wilder nightlife mood, it only takes a 20 minutes buggy drive to Jeri.

In Prea there are some small supermarkets where you can buy basics. Jeri has two bigger supermarkets. Prea is an ultimate place for kiters, windsurfers, sun lovers, small groups, love couples and stressed managers. Here you can do sports, relax and reload yourself.

Jericoacoara

Pedra Furada - Rock Arch
The Arched Rock has become the symbol of Jericoacoara. The rock formation offers beautiful vistas from all directions.

Lagoa Paraíso and Lagoa Azul
Two fresh water lagoons with white sand and clear bright blue water. Here you will find several beach side restaurants which offer delicious food and a place to relax. In the dry weather season the lagoons might be reduced.

Mangue Seco
About 5 km from Jeri, along the beach you will find Mangue Seco. A small fishing village with a small fresh water lake and a surreal looking forest of long dead mangrove trees, that’s why the name "dried mangrove". Here you can drink a cold beer and eat fresh mangrove crabs.

Guriu
Continue west along the beach and you will reach Guriu, another small community of fishermen, which is situated next to the mouth of a small river. Here you can take a raft who which brings passengers, vehicles and horses across the river mouth. You can also hire a fisherman to take you in the mangroves to get a glimpse at the sea horses who live here in abundance.

Tatajuba
Tatajuba is approximately 40 km from Prea. It is a small village on the riverside with a beautiful fresh water lagoon nearby. To get to the lake you pass dunes who can have a crystallization process, sometimes revealing small sand sculptures. At the lagoon you can relax in a hammock which dips comfortably in the water and eat delicious fresh fish and lobster.
